How Sagip Baganga Came Into Existence

Seeing the pictures of the now-devastated Baganga leaving a lot of people homeless, hungry, and sick, a group of devoted graduates of the then-Our Lady's Academy of Baganga now-turned St. Mary's College of Baganga decided to put up a group to seek help for the people of Baganga in Davao Oriental. An RVM sister, who held Baganga closest to her heart also joined in this relief effort while yours truly, with a strong desire to also help in the receiving and repacking of goods, hopped in the group.

It wasn't easy at start. The minds behind this relief effort  tried everything to solicit donations, tapped people from different organizations, and even sought the help of social network sites such as Facebook to spread this drive and get people to donate. Indeed, we are blessed that the President of the University of the Immaculate Concepcion willingly allowed Sagip Baganga to use her office as the drop-in center for all the donations (thank you Sister Marissa for this big help). Slowly, donations keep on coming in, including cash donations.

To be able to let the whole world know how Sagip Baganga works during these trying times of our lives, a Facebook Community page has been created along with this blog. This social networks will present updates on how we go about with our quest and we also would like to thank our donors and benefactors through these pages for sharing their blessings to those affected brothers and sisters back home.

To those who have already donated, our heartfelt gratitude to you from the bottom of our hearts.
