First Visit To Baganga

Sagip Baganga had its first visit to Baganga, Davao Oriental last December 15-16, 2012 for the distribution of relief goods to affected families. Necessary preparations have been made so that everything could be done smoothly. Finally, two regular volunteers Domie A. and Jean T. along with the RVM sisters went to Baganga to help distribute the relief goods.

Here's what a volunteer has to say:

"Sagip Baganga together with the RVM sisters have been in Baganga for 2 days (Dec.15 &16) for our 1st distribution of goods. We distribute it to Saoquige, Baybay Lucod and Lucod proper, Bobonao and Baybay baculin. some of the goods we give it to Parish of Lambajon and Parish of Kinablangan. We almost accomodate 2000 plus of families.we really feel so delighted upon seeing those happy faces when they recieve the goods. We do tell them too na gkan yaan sng mga taga baganga na ygtinabangay here and abroad, grabe ing madungog mo na pasalamat kanilan and they even tell na sana grasyahan yaan na mga utaw( the benefactors and sponsors). We really keep on praying hoping na sikira gawo pgkadomingo mgsuga da coz on sat makusugay ing uwan, and our prayers are granted. At 5 AM of sunday we atteded mass, maluoy gaud kamo ng simbahan. ygpayong ing yanimba kay yag uwan pa man that tym, after the mass prepare all vehicles with full of loads of goods for distribution, Sr. Fe assigned each vehicle to designated areas, Domie Apostol in Baybay Baculin, Jean Tumanda in Saoquige and Sr. Fe Gerodias at Baybay LUcod, Lucod &Bobonao together with the RVM sisters& Missionary Brothers. We do hope and pray that you our benefactors and sponsors continue supporting us so on the next distribution we can reach the places of batiano, binondo and campawan.GOd Bless us all.".. -taken from Sagip Baganga page

And here's what Sr. Fe herself has to say:

"We arrived Baganga after 10hours of travel by land. that was because the trucks and other vehicles we had were full of relief goods that we have to wait for them. we were running at 40, huh! anyways, we arrived safe. took our lunch, then started to ask about their way of distribution, the number of recipients, etc., then proceeded to the Incident Command center of the military to register and request for military escorts, as it was needed, to have order in the distribution. with the help of mrs. raymunda apostol, we were brought to areas we have identified for the coupons to be distributed. it was raining hard but we didn't mind the rain. while doing that, the sisters were made to rest as distribution would only be made the next day.

it's to touching and fulfilling to have served our people in baganga even if, only for a day or two. there is a need, somehow, to go back, and extend oneself a little more ..... God be praised for the safe and fruitful mission in Baganga". -taken from Sr. Fe's Facebook page
